Tails and Terpsichore is an exhibit about the many
occurrences where animal and dance themes become intertwined. It investigates the numerous
ways animals can dance, as well as the many ways people can dance about or with their furry
friends. This exhibit offers something for everyone as it will appease the most strict
of balletomanes, and will delight the most naive of newcomers. Tails and Terpsichore reminds
us that dance is for everyone... tall, thin, thick, young, old, scales, feathers, fur...
This exhibit explores the history, myths, and reality
behind pointe shoes and ballet. See toe shoes sawed in half, dozens of autographed shoes
from your favorite ballerinas, fascinating video, and find out all the facts on the do's
and don'ts of dancing En Pointe!

This exhibit celebrates the career of Colombian-American
choreographer, Eleo Pomare. Pomare’s work is famed for its sociopolitical themes and his
importance as a black dance pioneer.

“America’s National Ballet Company,” American Ballet Theatre
is one of the world’s greatest performing institutions. From the earliest years to the
current company, ABT has featured an international roster of great dancers and an
unparalleled repertoire of ballets. The exhibit showcases costumes, photos, programs,
and memorabilia from ABT's illustrious past and present.

Art in the Foyer is an annually rotating series that welcomes
dance inspired fine art from artists across the nation. Our 2011 artist, Rose
Eichenbaum, will have her photography displayed in the foyer until May 2012.
The 2012 season will feature
work by Christopher Duggan,
a resident photographer at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival.

The C.V. Whitney Hall of Fame honors dance professionals who
have made a major impact in the world of dance. Now home to over forty inductees, the
Hall of Fame is the only of its kind and is one of two permanent exhibits at the
National Museum of Dance.

The National Museum of Dance is housed in what was once the Washington Bath House,
an Arts and Crafts Style building from 1918 and one of several historic bathhouses
in Saratoga Springs, NY. Two adjoining bathing rooms have been fully restored and are on
permanent display, honoring the heritage of this beautiful building.

Twist! Jump! Play! Dance! The Alfred Z. Solomon Children’s Wing is an interactive space just
for kids! It includes a video library, reading corner, movement and balance toys, stage area
and more. The Kids’ Gallery showcases rotating exhibits of children’s artwork and allows
visitors to create their own masterpieces as well!
