Ballroom Dance Lessons

Tuesdays • 6:30 pm-8:30 pm
Tango Fusion Dance Company offers classes at the Museum on Tuesday nights. New students may try one class for free. Class will take place in the Museum foyer and southeast gallery from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm. Classes offered include rumba, west coast swing, and Argentine tango. Dance Through Parkinson’s

Thursdays, 1:30 am-2:30 pm
Weekly class for people living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners. This class will explore movement through different types of rhythmic music in ways that are joyful, safe, and stimulating. Dance Through Parkinson’s has been proven to enhance strength, balance, flexibility, awareness, and confidence in its participants. Dance Through Parkinson’s will be taught by Rachelle Smith-Stallman, a Board-Certified Dance Movement Therapist and New York State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist. Savion Glover
Master Classes

Friday, March 2 • 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Saturday, March 3 • 1:00 - 2:30 pm & 3:00 - 4:30 pm

Tap dance legend Savion Glover will lead a series of three master classes. This unprecedented workshop is designed to allow an opportunity for the dancer to better identify with an approach that will enlighten one’s way toward expressing themselves through tap dance and sound. Glover will reach beyond aesthetics to address the heart, spirit, and passion of tap dance. In doing so, he will incorporate the rich history and theory of the art form. The cost is $150 per dancer for the three-part workshop, open to all ages and abilities. Advance registration is required as class size will be limited. Click here to register.
